History of the Faculty

The faculty provides training in the following specialties:

In 1984, as part of the Mathematical department, after Historical faculty of Aktyubinsk Pedagogical Institute, departments for training specialists of higher education for primary classes were opened. In 1990, the faculty of Pedagogy was functioned separately as an independent structural subdivision. From 1990-1992 the faculty was headed by Zh. Butinchinov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, from 1992-1995 – by O. Baygambetov, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Professor, owner of Excellence in Education Awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During these years the following departments as “Pedagogy of elementary education”, “Theory and Technology of Teaching Languages in Primary Schools”, “Theory and Technology of Teaching Natural and Mathematical Disciplines”, “Musical education”, “Pre-school Education” are functioned at the faculty and headed by S. Kantarbai, A. Kenzhegulova, N. Kustova, O. Shunkeyeva.

Since 1995-2004 the Faculty was headed by A. Usov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, owner of Excellence in Education Awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan and “Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan”; from 2004 till 2006 – S. Kantarbay, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, owner of the breastplate “Y. Altynsarin” and Excellence in Education Awards of the Republic of Kazakhstan; from 2006 till 2009 S. Yeskaliyev, Candidate of Historical Sciences, Professor, owner of the breastplate «Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan”; from 2009 till 2012 – S. Mukhtarov, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, owner of the breastplate “For Merits in the Development of Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, in 2012 – K. Turebayeva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, owner of the breastplate “Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan”; in 2012 – A. Duisenbayev, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; from 2012-2013 – L. Alekeshova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; Nurdaulet Aldashev, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor, owner of the medal “For the 20th Anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, Letter of Thanks from the President, from 2013 till 2014.

Bachelors and Masters of the following specialties: “5В010100 – Preschool education and upbringing”; “5В010200 – Pedagogy and methods of primary education”; “5В010300 – Pedagogy and Psychology”; “5В010500 – Defectology”; “5В012300 – Social Pedagogy and Self-knowledge” and 6N010300 – “Pedagogy and Psychology” were graduated from the faculty.

During these years at the faculty the following departments as “Primary education, preschool education and special education”, “Theory and Technology of Language Teaching in Primary School”, “Theory and Technology of Teaching Disciplines of Natural Science” were functioned and headed by of A. Kenzhegulova, K. Turebayeva, A. Bazargaliyeva, K. Islamova, S. Seitenova.

There are Doctors of Sciences, Professors, Candidates of Sciences and Associate Professors, “Honors of secondary and special secondary education of the USSR”, “Honorary Workers of Education” and owners of the Order of the Badge of Honor, the medal “Yeren Yenbek”, owners of state grants “The Best Teacher of Higher Education”. Teaching staff takes an active part in various International, Republican, Regional, Oblast, City, Scientific-theoretical, Practical Conferences and seminar-practical classes.

By order No. 348-N from 1 September, 2014, the Institute of Pedagogy was formed by joining two faculties “Pedagogy and Psychology” and “Professional Creativity”. From 2014-2016 K. Turebaeva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor was a Director of the Institute of Pedagogy. From 2016-2017 academic year S. Doszhanova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor was a Director of the Institute.
